Hey, a NEW POLL! It's been awhile since I've had one of those. Well, here it is:
What "new" system should I get with my tax refund?
PS3
Wii U
PS4
Xbox One
Please keep in mind available games for that system. If you know me or have followed my blog for awhile you know what types of games I like. And while I say "new" some of those system aren't exactly new. But they're new to me so there you go.
You have until March 18th to vote. Please be sure to tell me why in the comments. You can do it anonymously if you don't want me to know that my Xbox 360 loving gamer friend is really a Wii U fan boy at heart.

I didn't vote because I wouldn't feel comfortable telling you what you should get, and although I would never recommend a Micro$oft console to anyone again, I'm sure that all of your friends will be playing Titan Fall on the XBone. You wouldn't want to miss out on that, would you?
Of course, it sounds foolish to get anything that's NOT the newest generation, but without backward compatibility...?
As for me personally, roughly 40% of my gaming is on the PC, 40% is on my Vita, and 20% is on my PS3. In fact, I'm currently playing through Red Dead Redemption for the third time (first on PS3). Now, if you were to get a PS3 and you happen to pick up RDR as you were contemplating a few posts back, I would play the Hell outta multiplayer with you!
I am seriously considering RDR and a PS3. When RDR first came out I was like 'eh'. But I've seen some game play and I liked what I saw.
Just because you vote for something doesn't mean I have to do that. I'm going to do whatever the hell I want to. I'm just interested in seeing what you guys would pick if you were in my shoes.
The game I'm getting REALLY excited about is Thief. I first played it on PC (sucked at it) and then I think I have it on Xbox or maybe PS2. I can't remember. That is one game that even though I sucked I always more.
I didn't mean to imply that you were going to spend hundreds of dollars based on the decisions of other people. Just that it's a hard choice to make "in someone else's shoes".
For example, I already have a PS3, lost interest in Nintendo ever since the N64 failed to impress, and have had more than enough of Micro$oft's insatiable greed. I would have to go for the PS4, but I feel like the majority of your friends will continue on to the XBone. Despite it costing $100 more (not including the annual subscription to Live), I think XBone may be the best choice for you, if only to maintain your social network.
Then again, since I haven't been on Live in more than a year and a half (or done ANY social gaming for that matter), I don't really know the sentiment of other gamers. I would love to find out that more people were fed up with being over Micro$oft's barrel and were changing over to the competition.
Also worth considering is that you seem to like Japanese RPGs, and Playstation always has a deeper library of those.
Since I like stealth games, Thief has always been interesting to me as well, but I never got around to playing any of the previous titles. I seem to remember my friend Azura playing the first one on Xbox. Maybe I'll try this new one?
Well my friends don't play with me any more so I'm left to go solo these days. It's easier to play alone on my PS2 because I'm use to that. It's harder to play alone on my 360 because I'm use to playing with friends. There's a huge library of old PS3 games I'd like to have. But we'll see
Your friends don't play with you? Because you're not into the same games? They feel like they have to watch their language around you? They've moved away from Xbox Live? It's one thing to willingly disconnect as I have done, but it sounds like you've been ostracized. I'm sorry, but I don't understand why they wouldn't play with you anymore.
If I were still willing to be over Micro$oft's barrel I'd be happy to play something with you. Even Kameo, or Gin Rummy. Actually, I REALLY wish the original SW:Battlefront was still running. :'(
One day, you and I will have and like the same game on the same system, and we'll play again. I'm almost certain of it. That is, if you are still willing to play with me. I imagine that I can be a very tough pill to swallow. ;p
There was one guy who kind of held everybody together. He started playing other things or with other people and the usual crowd just started melting away. Now everybody's off doing their own thing. I send invites but nobodys in the mood to play anything I suggest.
